The Warmth of Being Known

On finding home in another person.

1 min read

There is a kind of warmththat has nothing to do with weather.

It is the quiet after a long day,a shoulder that does not ask you to explain,a hand reaching for yoursas if it has always known the way.

I used to think home was somewhereI had to find. Then one evening, in the middleof an ordinary conversation,I forgot to be cold.
